Take time, make a difference! Volunteer at the Sharing and Caring Hands Center

There are a lot of us who don’t know what its like to go hungry or to go to sleep at night without the safety of our homes or the warmth of our cozy beds.  Truth is there are hundreds of thousands of people, including, men, women, and children who know how it feels to go hungry or not to have a safe place to sleep.

We drive by the homeless who stand on the corners holding there weathered cardboard signs with our thoughts “how pathetic” or “just get a job.”   Little do we know their sunken eyes and sores on their feet, tell a story, and with a thought in our minds most of us don’t take the time to find out the real truth behind these people’s lives.  I hold this issue close to my heart because I have a cousin who was abused, wasn’t taught the skills how to obtain a job, or a house who only knows how to live on the streets.  As Miss Teen Minnesota 2008 I would be more able to spread the word to a larger audience how we can make a difference, how we can help the poor, the abused, the homeless.
